1. What is sports performance training?

Sports performance workouts combine strength, speed, and explosiveness training to improve both the body and mind for athletic competition. The goal is to increase power, acceleration, and multi-directional agility for sport-specific situations, all while reducing risk of injury. 

2. What do workouts consist of?

Depending on your sport, experience, and age, sports performance training will combine various types of weight lifting, speed and agility work, and plyometrics into a comprehensive program. We also focus on flexibility, mobility, and core stability to improve movement patterns and help your body get into the optimal positions needed for your sport.

3. How is this different from CrossFit? 

While CrossFit is great for getting in shape, we focus on developing the specific strength, speed and skills needed for success in your sport (or sports.) The type and style of training in our program, plus the structure and progressions, are very different from those designed for getting in shape, losing weight, or bulking up.

4. What age groups/levels is this for?

We offer classes for all ages, from 1st grade to professional. We work with beginners as well as experienced athletes. Training varies considerably depending on different factors: younger kids will focus primarily on developing motor skills and laying a foundation for athleticism, while older athletes will focus more on the specifics of their sport. Check our class options for more information.

5. How many times a week should I train?

It depends on your goals and time of year (in-season or off-season). Experienced athletes playing at high levels will train up to 4 times per week, in-season athletes might train 1-2 times per week. Beginners or athletes just trying to maintain form will train 2-3 times per week.
